Running injury

As a keen runner myself, I am a strong interest in running-related injuries.  With my first-hand experience, I have the knowledge and skills to get you back running as soon as possible, and to reduce the risk of further injuries.

Amongst the various running injuries, here are the ones I commonly treat:

  • Knee pain, also known as runner’s knee

  • Hip pain

  • Low back pain

  • Hamstring injuries

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Heel pain

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints)

  • Stress fracture (commonly affecting foot, tibia and pelvic bones)

As PhysioScape, we assess runners in thoroughly considering all the factors that could contribute to your niggle, pain or injury.

These factors include, but are not limited to, training load, recovery, sleep, psychological factors, and biomechanical factors.

If deemed necessary, we will perform a running assessment. Looking at your running technique can help identify biomechanical factors contributing to your pain, such as:

  • Cadence

  • Overstriding

  • Foot Strike

  • Stride width

  • Hip drop

Once we identify the potential cause(s) of your symptoms, we will address it and do the work to return to the level of running you want as soon as possible.
