Running injury
In the comfort of your home or via Telehealth, I offer physiotherapy services to help you with your running injury.
As a keen runner, I love treating running-related injuries. With my first-hand experience, I have the knowledge and skills to get you back running as soon as possible, and to reduce the risk of further injuries.
Here is a list of injuries that I commonly treat:
Knee pain, also known as runner’s knee
Hip pain
Low back pain
Hamstring injuries
Achilles tendinopathy
Heel pain
Plantar fasciitis
Medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints)
Stress fracture (commonly affecting foot, tibia and pelvic bones)
To assess and treat runners, I have developed a thorough assessment. It looks at all the factors that could explain why you sustained an injury on the first place.
These factors include, but are not limited to, training load, recovery, sleep, psychological factors, and biomechanical factors.
An assessment will look like this:
I will ask you questions to understand what your running “practice” looks like, and
I will test your movements and muscle strength to identify what may contribute to your symptoms
If this is required for you, I will also perform a running assessment aiming to look at all the variables. These variables include, but are not limited to:
Cadence
Overstriding
Foot Strike
Stride width
Hip drop
Once we identify the possible cause of your symptoms, we will be able to address it and do the work to return to the level of running you want as soon as possible.
If you regularly feel niggles, or if you are constantly injured, then book a consultation now. After a thorough assessment, you will receive a treatment plan and a detailed exercise program to help you get back to running the way you love it.
